Actual data in, Bud/Fcst Data Out

Sharing data between systems should be easy and shouldn’t require a PhD in IT. Unfortunately that’s not always the case!

If your systems really are customer-centric, they should play nice and allow for their data to be imported and exported to other systems with ease.

In this video, take a look at how our Anaplan FP&AI app makes it easy to load actual data in, and easy to export budget and forecast data out.

Constellaition’s FP&AI solution is an enterprise budgeting and forecasting application built on the Anaplan platform.  Leverage your business data combined with our Anaplan / FP&A experience for a flexible and future-proof foundation – without having to break the bank or reinvent the wheel.  Click the link below to find out more.

Transcript:Timestamp Captions 00:01 – 00:04 Hi there, I’m Zaf Kamar and I’m back with another episode 00:04 – 00:08 of our series How to FP&AI. In today’s video, I’ll show you 00:08 – 00:11 how easy it is to import actual data into and export budget 00:11 – 00:14 and forecast data out of our FPNA I application. This 00:14 – 00:17 functionality is gonna allow FPS and AI to coexist 00:17 – 00:20 seamlessly with other systems in your tech stack, whether 00:20 – 00:24 they are ERP angels like Work Day, NetSuite, QuickBooks or 00:24 – 00:27 others, or BI and reporting platforms like Workiva, Power 00:27 – 00:29 BI or Tableau. 00:29 – 00:32 Let’s get started. OK, so we are in our administration 00:32 – 00:35 section of the FP and AI model and 1st place we’re going to 00:35 – 00:38 go is into our actuals administration. Now the actual 00:38 – 00:41 administration section is going to be the place where 00:41 – 00:44 administrators are able to load actual data into the app. 00:44 – 00:47 As you’ll see here from the logos, we do have pre built 00:47 – 00:50 accelerators for integrating in actuals information in from 00:50 – 00:53 work day, QuickBooks and Oracle NetSuite. 00:53 – 00:56 And that’s something that can help cut days off of an 00:56 – 00:59 already fast four week implementation timeframe. 00:59 – 01:02 Integrating actuals into FP and AI is a four click process. 01:02 – 01:05 All we have to do is, for example, click one of these 01:05 – 01:07 buttons here. 01:07 – 01:12 But I choose file, I browse for my file here. 01:13 – 01:17 And I’ll click Run process. 01:18 – 01:21 And that has now integrated and imported about 10,000 rows 01:21 – 01:24 worth of actual data into the application. It’s quick as 01:24 – 01:27 that FP and I can handle up to 1,000,000 rows of actual 01:27 – 01:31 data from current year prior year without a problem. 01:31 – 01:34 Now suppose you wanted to drill into your data. FPN AI 01:34 – 01:37 comes with the functionality around transaction drill down. 01:37 – 01:41 The seamless interface on screen here shows how easily you 01:41 – 01:44 can dig into your data using metadata synchronization. So 01:44 – 01:47 for example, I can click on a legal entity or I can click 01:47 – 01:50 on a particular account. 01:50 – 01:53 And my grid down below is going to synchronize based off of 01:53 – 01:55 that. 01:56 – 01:59 Or the other thing that I might be able to do is I can use 01:59 – 02:03 dynamic view filtering over here to let’s say for example 02:03 – 02:06 filtering on a particular customer. 02:06 – 02:09 To be able to understand my transactions, the final thing 02:09 – 02:12 that we’ll take a look at today is how easy it is to export 02:12 – 02:15 data from MP and AI as well. 02:15 – 02:17 From the Y1 Administration section, what we’ll do is we’ll 02:17 – 02:20 just scroll all the way down to the data export. 02:20 – 02:22 And on this screen, what we can see is all of our 02:22 – 02:25 information from all of our different versions. 02:25 – 02:28 So I can toggle here between my actual version, my current 02:28 – 02:31 year budget version, my current forecast version, and any 02:31 – 02:35 of the others that you see on screen. 02:36 – 02:39 And that will present the information to me on this grid. 02:39 – 02:42 Also needs to be done is you either click this button here 02:42 – 02:45 to export directly from a grid, which is default 02:45 – 02:48 functionality available out of Anaplan, or you click this 02:48 – 02:51 button here Export Data and that will export all of your 02:51 – 02:54 information into a CSV file which you can then use to 02:54 – 02:57 import back into your ERP, manipulate it in XLS needed, or 02:57 – 03:00 load into Power BI for even fancier visualizations than 03:00 – 03:03 we’ve got here in the FNAI application. 03:03 – 03:07 That’s all for today. I’ll see you in the next video.
